Hanging out at home
For the long weekend we decided to head up to Door County. It was nice to get away even if only an hour away. We pushed Ty a bit this past week with traveling and being close to home was good. It was a bit cooler being closer to the water than if we would have stayed in Green Bay. We found traveling and seeing sights is much different with an infant. Wonderful yes, but different! We were constantly worried about whether it was time to eat, is he going to poop, do we push this last activity, and is Ty getting too much sun. The weather was beautiful and sunny! We went to Whitefish Dunes State Park and Ty got his first look at Lake Michigan. The water was so cold we did not put his feet in. We then headed to Peninsula State Park and did a quick hike and just relaxed and watched the boats from Welckers Point. Peninsula always brings such good memories of my childhood since we vacationed there and it was great to share this with Ty. Ty also went to his first fishboil where he was more interested in the cars driving by. He is doing such a good time following cars with his eyes that I think he would have been the most content if we spent the weekend just looking at cars driving by. On Sunday before we left we had a nice brunch and then did one last hike in Newport State Park.

Today we headed to the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary and Ty was fascinated by the geese and ducks. It is free to get in and there are lots of places to walk around, so was a great family activity. We also had a picnic lunch before heading home. We spent the rest of the day gearing up for Ty's first day at daycare tomorrow. I could cry thinking about it. We are planning to both take him and I will pick him up at 4:00p. We want to pick him up as early as possible because he is getting so tired and fussy around 7pm we don't want to miss any time with our sweet, happy baby.
He was talking up a storm when I took this pic
So sleepy on his stroller ride
