FLORIDA

In late May we took a trip to Miami to visit my brother's family.  It was just a long weekend and we found traveling with a toddler is not very relaxing.  For the most part Ty did great on the flights, but it was just hard to keep him entertained and seated for the each flight.  Luckily, all the flights were timely.  Sleeping was also was a challenge.  It was nice to be in some warmer weather than our spring in Green Bay gave us

Ty loved watching his uncle play the piano

On the first day we visited a beach near Hollywood, Florida.  Ty was very apphrensive about the beach, but loved playing in the sand with his cousin Ninel.  We then went back to the apartment and hung out at the pool.  This became our favorite place to hang out on our trip.  We tried some Cuban food and watched the kids play at a local park.

Our second day we spent at the Children's Art Museum near Fort Lauderdale.  This was a wonderful museum and Ty had lots of fun playing and trying all the different things.  We would head back here again!  Ninel had tons of fun and even indulged her younger cousin and let him play with her.  We then headed back to the pool and had a quiet night at my brother's place.

For our last day we got more pool time, trolled for the geckos in the neighborhood, visited the campus my brother works for, and took a walk around their neighborhood.  All in all we were glad we made the trip and look forward to the next time we can see my brother and his family again.
