OCTOBER FUN

I feel like I say this all the time, but October was a very busy month!  The weather was relatively nice and we were able to do a lot of outdoor things.  The second weekend in October was a gorgeous 70 degrees.  We took off with Ty to the Wildlife Sanctuary for their Fall festival.  Ty was able to take a horse wagon ride and we just walked around and saw all the animals.  This was a free event with free food, so it was very crowded.  We also spent part of this weekend raking leaves in our yard.  Ty really enjoyed helping to rake and liked to jump in the leaves.  Unfortunately we have so many trees in our yard this becomes an almost weekly event.

Raking leaves is tiring!

The following weekend we went up to Door County for what is becoming an annual fall tradition.  Ty was able to go back to PC Junction and watch the train deliver food.  We also stopped at the Farm in Sturgeon Bay where Ty was able to feed goats and other animals.  He loved it though did not like how greedy the goats were.  It was a very windy weekend, but we still found time to play with the rocks.

The next weekend we went to the National Railroad Museum for their annual Great Pumpkin Ride.  You take a brief train ride to where they have pumpkins.  You then are able to pick your pumpkins and take a ride back on the train.  Ty had a hard time choosing which pumpkin he wanted.  The rest of the museum was open and had lots of kid's events.  Ty especially loved the music and he even danced a bit.  :)

Ty's daycare had a Halloween party the following week.  Ty had so much fun seeing his teachers and doing all the activities even though at times I think he was overwhelmed.  He dressed up as a firefighter, but was not a big fan of his hat.  Ty was sick on Halloween, but we still managed to do some trick or treating to about 6 houses in our neighborhood.

Trick or Treating-come on, mom!  Let's go!

All done

We have quite a chatterbox in our house right now.  Ty talks all the time.  Whatever he sees or is doing he will let us know.  It is the funniest thing to just to listen to him talking about how he sees the world.  He has such a wonderful, happy view of the world.  We have noticed that Ty is not a big fan of sweets.  He will pick out veggies or fruit before any sweets.  He tries so hard to be an independent boy and wants to try things all on his own.  We have started giving him some brief time-outs when he misbehaves.  He does not like to do this, but he always comes back with a hug and sorry after the timeout.  He is starting to count to 10 and can recognize a few letters.  He also knows his colors well.  We cannot believe we will have a 2 year old in less than three months.  Yikes!

He loves the decorative pumpkins

Ty has taken an interest in cooking.
