ONE YEAR OLD

Wild hair!

Ty is almost 13 months, but I am just getting to his one year update.  Time just goes faster.  We remember so much about this time last year-no sleep, first smiles, and adjusting to our role as parents.  Here we are one year later and we love him more than we could ever imagine and it is so much more fun than a year ago.

One day old

One year later

At 12 months Ty is not quite walking.  He will stand independently for a couple of seconds, but hasn't taken any steps yet.  We think he can do, but he is not interested or doesn't realize how much freedom he will have.  Eating has become more interesting at our house.  Ty threw lots of food on the floor this past month.  He also wants to independently eat and gets mad when he can't do this.  He still will try most foods, but if there is a variety of food he will eat what he likes first and then eat the rest.  Smart boy!  Ty will be weaned off the bottle in the next month. We will see how that goes.

Ty has his one year doctor appointment and we were asked what Ty eats to be such a big boy!  He weighed 25 pounds, 4 1/2 ounces and was 31 3/4 inches long.  This puts him in the 95th percentile for height and 83rd percentile in weight.  He had four shots that day; it was not pleasant to watch!

Rosy cheeks

Ty is quite the imitator.  His favorite word is yucky and he says it all the time even if something is not yucky.  Maybe we use that word too much.  He is also good at making the sounds of a dog and a monkey.  He is able to communicate with us better by pointing to things or looking at what he wants.  At the same time he can become very frustrated when we don't know what he wants.  He is able to throw his ball very well, identify animals in a book, loves to cuddle with soft blankets, love walking around furniture,  and continues to be very social.

Getting so big

It has been truly amazing to watch him grow into a delightful, sweet boy!
