TY'S 1ST CHRISTMAS

Ty was "caught" getting into the Christmas presents early

Ty had a really great first Christmas!  We started celebrations for the holidays by attending church on Christmas Eve.  The service had a lot of great music, but went long and Ty got squirrely.  After church we stopped at our neighbors house for cocktails and appetizers.  It was so wonderful to wake up at our own home on Christmas morning.  We hung out in our PJ's and leisurely opened gifts with Ty.  He really did not get the whole concept of opening presents, but he liked ripping the wrapping paper.  He got a sled, boots, some onesies, and bibs from us.  We were real practical with the gifts this year.  Ty especially enjoyed his mom's gift of a coffee mug.  My parents and brother came around noon and we had a wonderful afternoon and evening of eating appetizers, playing Trivial Pursuit, and just catching up.  It truly was a perfect day.  Our best Christmas gift was receiving a letter from Ty's birthfather.  He wrote Matt and I a wonderful letter and Ty got a really nice gift from his birthfather for Christmas.  It was good to hear from him.  We are also making plans with Ty's birthmother to get together again soon.

The day after Christmas Matt took his brothers to the Packer-Giants game.  It was a great game.  I took Ty to the Christmas celebration at my grandma's.  It was so nice to catch up with my dad's side of the family.  Ty loved chasing my uncle and aunt's dog around the house.

The holidays are exhausting!

We continued our celebrations in Madison on New Years' Eve weekend.  We spent time with Matt's dad's family on New Year's Eve.  Ty was able to play with his uncles and his cousin Charlette.  It was a very relaxing time catching up.  We then spent New Year's Eve night and the morning of New Year's day with Matt's mom.  Again just a relaxing time of good food and conversation.  Before we left Madison we stopped at Matt's grandparents.  Ty again had so much fun chasing their dog, Benji.  Too cute!!

GO PACK GO!
Our Christmas festivities did not end there.  My sister came to visit from Florida this past weekend.  We tried hard to cram a lot into the 3 days she was here.  We played board games, went shopping, had a nice dinner and went to a movie, and took Ty sledding for this first time.  Ty seemed to like the sledding until he got snow in his face when Matt tried to stop the sled.  We then capped the night off by watching the PAckers beat the Eagles.  Yeah!

Sledding!

Not so sure about this sledding!
